What was your dream when you were a kid? What was the reason?
I don’t remember about my dream.
What was your dream when you were 18 years old? What was the reason?
To graduate from college
What made you start thinking about social entrepreneurship/social enterprises? When was that?
I realized that I want to do a job that would be sustainable financially and be helpful for other people at the same time. It was more than one year ago
How much do you think social entrepreneurs play an important role in the world?
I think they play very important role to keep the world in balance otherwise there would be absolute slavery.
What would you say to future social entrepreneurs / those who are interested in social entrepreneurs?
I would say to care about your family first and then to care of other people.
What is your favorite quote? Who said that quote?
“Everything comes back to us good and bad” – My father
Who Nazym is
Maybe I am wrong. In other words, I hope that I am wrong. However, I must say that you will not understand Nazym completely. “Unique” is not an enough of a word to describe her completely. All I can say about Nazym is that she lives in her own world. It seems like many thoughts are flying in her head even when she is in a conversation. Here is the best example. When we played UNO with several classmates of us, she could not follow what was happening in even one round. She knew how to play UNO but another thought must have crossed in her head while each round was going, so somebody had to explain what the last card was when her turn came.
Nazym does not need anyone to lead her because she knows where to go. She is definitely not a follower but a self-sufficient leader. She has impressed me in many ways. She will pioneer her own path in her life.
Awesome Episode
We were in a bar together one day. The situation was very rare but it was a great opportunity to see her outside of school.
Nazym was very drunk and dancing in the bar. She was wearing a glowy necklace which made her look like “Ironman”…”Ironwoman.” I was teasing her but as a matter of fact, many guys came to her. Of course she did not seem to feel bad about it. She kept dancing with the guys for a while. It was a fun opportunity to see another side of her.
The Power of MSE
What Nazym is holding is a symbol called “go-en(ご縁)”, which means ‘fate’, ’destiny’ and ’special tie.’
I believe that it is meant to be that we met in San Francisco! I studied Social Entrepreneurship with Nazym for a year, saying “We will make the world a better place.” I would love to spend the rest of my life with MSEs (Master of Social Entrepreneurship; my classmates) until the very day I die. They have already completely changed my life.
At the same time, however, I also think that we should not be together all the time, because that is not the reason why we learned Social Entrepreneurship. That is not how we will deliver the impact we want to give to society and to the world.
I think MSEs are like dandelions. We were seeded at the first day at Hult and we bloomed on our graduation day. Our mission is that we spread all over the world like dandelions and seed the future, the next generation, from each place where each of us has landed.
本当にありがとう(Honto ni Arigato-); Thank you very very much for everything!! The world needs you! Let’s make the world a better place together!!
